About

Territorio

It is a space to celebrate creativity and innovation. In the heart of the San Miguel Chapultepec neighborhood in Mexico City is Territorio, a design gallery that exhibits pieces of industrial design, art-object, furniture and accessories, among others. The gallery houses a selection of pieces by Mexican and international designers, representing a wide range of styles and trends.

In this space you can find pieces of furniture, lighting, household appliances and other everyday objects that have been designed with an aesthetic and functional approach. Art-objects also have a prominent place in the gallery. These pieces, which are on the border between art and design, combine functionality with artistic expression. Territorio is a space that promotes Mexican and Latin American design. The gallery organizes exhibitions, workshops and events to disseminate design and encourage the exchange of ideas between designers, artists and the general public.

Design Week México

Design Week Mexico (DWM) and Mexico Territorio Creativo (MXTC) are two key initiatives in the field of design in Mexico. Both are non-profit organizations that aim to bring together and promote creative production through a local and international network. Their approach encompasses diverse disciplines, including architecture, design, art and crafts, thus celebrating all facets of the creative process. By promoting the work of contemporary creators and facilitating the intersection between different disciplines, MXTC seeks to share and empower socially responsible design as an agent of economic, social and cultural change. The organization's mission and vision include improving the quality of life through the promotion of innovation and healthy competition.

C Cubica Arquitectos has a leading role in these initiatives, leading and organizing both Design Week Mexico and Mexico Territorio Creativo since 2009. Design Week Mexico has obtained the recognition of World Design Capital, with Mexico City being the first city in the Americas to receive this title in 2018. This underscores the importance and relevance of these initiatives in the global design landscape. Both organizations consider socially responsible design as a fundamental tool to improve the quality of life of people and the environment. The ability to form teams of collaboration and participation between civil society, specialists, institutions and the government has allowed the realization of more than 250 programs, including exhibitions, conferences, workshops, residencies, pavilions, interventions in public spaces and forums at national and international levels. This collective and collaborative approach demonstrates the positive impact that design can have on society and on the cultural and economic environment.

About

Acoocooro

Objects are vehicles for heritage, history and beauty; pieces of emotional archaeology and containers for ceremonies and stories: stories invoked by memory, engraved by craftsmanship, transferred by tradition and projected into the future, waiting to be told.

Founded in 2017 by Martín Diego Salido-Orcillo and Antonio Mendoza Bravo, ACOOCOORO is a furniture, lighting and artifacts studio, a laboratory focused on aesthetic and historical research, on the poetry of objects and their emotional relationships with individuals and spaces, on their functions, infinite possibilities and their hypothetical and imaginary evolution.

Each object, each piece, more than a product in a collection, is the result of constant experimentation and exploration of materials, processes, lines of research and craftsmanship. These components fill each of them with history, narratives and memory: memory of the individuals who conceive and build them, and that of the individuals who live their lives with them and through them.

Platalea Studio

Platalea Studio is formed by the duo of artists and designers Lilia Corona and Rodrigo Lobato.

It is a space to explore cultural encounters and transgressions of modernity, as well as a portent for the world to come.

At Platalea Studio we are interested in investigating the convergences between the complex cultural imaginary of Mexico and the contemporary world beyond.

We create objects that are defined by the kindness of their forms that evoke a sense of lightness and humor. Our designs live in indefinable spaces, taking shape between myth and history, between city and country, between materials and bodies. The most important thing about our work at Platalea Studio is to transmit love, we approach life with joy, for its own sake and as a form of resistance.
